Job Title: Cabinet Designer (NOC: 72311)

Employer: Oppein Cabinetry

Location: Etobicoke, ON

 

Salary: Hourly rate $36.00

Vacancies: 1

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time 35.00 hours/week

Start date:  As soon as possible

 

Employment conditions: Day, Early Morning, Morning, Overtime

Work conditions: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure

Work location: Urban area

Work Setting: Cabinetry

Personal suitability: team player, organized, flexibility, accurate, effective interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, reliability

 

Tasks

Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components

Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage

Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.

Instruct apprentices

Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made

Operate CADD and other computer software systems

Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints

Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics

Supervise other workers

Estimate costs and materials

Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products
