Apart from the required skills, WIG Transport Inc wants people with the highest standard of and unquestionable integrity for which the  selected employee can expect top dollar in wages.  Duties and ResponsibilitiesIncluded, but are not limited to, the following:1.     Vehicle Operation and Transportation• Operate heavy trucks, tractor-trailers, and other commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials over short and long distances • Drive on assigned routes and follow delivery schedules as provided by dispatch• Ensure safe operation of vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and transportation regulations Safety and Compliance Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including brakes, tires, lights, steering, and other critical systems• Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and municipal transportation laws, including hours-of-service regulations• Adhere strictly to company safety policies and procedures• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or loss during transit• Maintain accurate driver logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records, Record mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times, and inspection results• Complete bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other transportation documents accurately• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding routes, delivery schedules, delays, or issues• Provide updates on delivery status and report any incidents or accidents immediately·       Adapt to changing weather conditions, routes, schedules, and operational requirements·        Assist with loading and unloading of cargo when required 2.Performing basic vehicle maintenance / minor repair tasks for reliable operations:·       Conduct routine vehicle inspection ·       Checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness·       Identify mechanical issues and report safety concerns promptly to management·       Preferably perform troubleshooting breakdown  and minor running repairs·       Ensure assigned vehicles are kept in clean and road-worthy condition·       Keep track of vehicle servicing schedules 3.     Represent Wig Transport Inc. in a professional and courteous manner at all times·       Interact professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and other road users·       Ensure timely and accurate pickup and delivery of goods·       Handle cargo with care to prevent damage and loss·       Maintain a positive working relationship with clients and colleagues·       Additional Responsibilities Comply with company policies, procedures, and code of conduct4.     Perform other related duties as assigned by management The Truck Driver position may have to endure: Long hours of driving, including nights, weekends, and holidays Extended periods away from home on long-haul routes Physical activities such as lifting, bending, and securing cargo Working in various weather and road conditions  Education-       Minimum completed Secondary School credentials   Experience-       Min  2-5  years North American long-haul, regional and X-border (US) driving experience, primarily in tractor-trailer and double -trailer  (Train A & B) configurations.Certification/Licensing/Endorsements/Compliances:-       A class  license with air brake endorsement (AZ)-       100% Clean Driver Extract – no collisions and tickets-       HAZMAT endorsement-       Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification -       Criminal checks-       Fedex commercial experience approval-       DOT/ FMCSA, and company safety regulations How to Apply:Applicants are encouraged to express their interest enclosing their detailed resumes, cover letter, licensing/certifications, driver abstracts and employment references. Job Description:As a Truck Driver, you are responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across long-haul and trans-border routes using flatbed and tractor-trailer equipment. The role focuses on ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining full compliance with transportation regulations and industry safety standards. It involves strategic route planning with GPS and navigation systems to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Strong mountain driving skills and attention to vehicle conditions are essential to maintain safe operations in varying road and weather conditions. The position supports reliable logistics operations and contributes to overall transportation efficiency and service excellence.Responsibilities:·         Estimate and coordinate costs related to vehicle repairs and replacement parts, as required.·         Plan and modify travel routes based on road, weather, and traffic conditions using GPS, computerized systems, and navigation tools to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impact.·         Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, concerns, and service-related issues.·         Demonstrate strong mountain driving skills and operate vehicles safely in challenging terrain and weather conditions.·         Coordinate travel schedules, prepare itineraries, and arrange necessary reservations when required.·         Secure special permits, customs documentation, and other required authorizations for cross-border or international cargo transport.·         Operate and drive straight-body or articulated tractor-trailer trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.·         Monitor and maintain vehicle condition by inspecting tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration units, and other mechanical components.·         Perform minor maintenance tasks, including brake adjustments and basic mechanical checks.·         Conduct comprehensive pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance.·         Communicate effectively with dispatch by receiving and transmitting relevant trip and delivery information.·         Maintain accurate records of cargo details, hours of service, mileage, and fuel usage in compliance with regulatory requirements.·         Secure loads using tarps, straps, and other equipment to ensure cargo safety and stability during transport.·         Transport and handle dangerous goods in accordance with applicable safety regulations and certification requirements.Requirements: Valid AZ Class Driver’s License Air Brakes Endorsement Clean driving record and successful license validity verification Knowledge of transportation documentation and regulatory complianceHow to apply: info@benipalmotors.ca
