Job Summary:

N.E.G. Audio Visual Inc. is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to install, maintain, test, and repair telecommunications systems and equipment. The role involves inspecting cable signals, diagnosing faults, and ensuring proper operation of telephone and network systems. The technician will work on-site to support installation, maintenance, and customer service tasks, while maintaining accurate service reports. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Job Duties:

  • Inspect and test cable signals and telecommunications equipment

  • Diagnose faults and repair or replace equipment as needed

  • Install, maintain, and remove telephone systems, wiring, and hardware

  • Test systems to identify and fix transmission issues

  • Complete service reports and maintain records

  • Determine the cause and location of technical problems

  • Install and maintain telecommunications circuits and equipment

  • Operate computerized testing systems on customer lines

  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable services

  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground cable systems

  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power supplies, and amplifiers

  • Provide guidance and training to apprentices

    Requirements:

    • Completion of a trades certificate/diploma or equivalent experience

    • 1 to 2 years of experience in telecommunications or related field

    • Knowledge of telephone and telecommunications systems

    • Ability to diagnose and repair technical issues

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Attention to detail and organizational skills

    • Ability to work flexible hours (day, evening, shifts)
